His research focused on integrating sociology, change management, psychology, and technical performance data to engage stakeholders in making more sustainable and higher-value decisions, trialled on real-world client projects.

Phil’s professional experience spans the development of organisational strategy, large-scale masterplanning projects, and significant capital projects. He has led impactful sustainability initiatives across public, private, and third sectors, including work with local authorities such as Cornwall Council, Bristol City Council, and Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES); higher education institutions like Imperial College London; private sector leaders such as Yorkshire Water and Marks & Spencer; and third-sector organisations including the National Trust Scotland, Woodland Trust, Eden Project, The Conservation Volunteers, Kew Gardens, and the Royal Horticultural Society.

As a co-founder, Phil is proud to have established 3ADAPT as a leading consultancy and software house, delivering transformative solutions for its clients. He is currently spearheading the development of Landarna, 3ADAPT’s innovative geospatial sustainability platform, designed to optimise land use for carbon storage, biodiversity, and broader social and economic benefits. Phil is advancing this platform to support the strategic transformation of land use and development, including residential and commercial projects, while also identifying and facilitating broader land-use changes to promote renewable energy initiatives and nature-based solutions.
