The expert advisory groups sit at the heart of RIBA policy making as well as the organisation’s responses to official government consultations. In addition, the groups inform the shape and content of activities from membership events to training, continued professional development (CPD) programmes and technical guidance.
Through the groups work there is a real opportunity to drive significant, enduring change across the industry, it is an honour to be working with such fantastically committed industry colleagues.
Jess Hrivnak, 3ADAPT
The group is drawn together from a cross section of industry professionals (designers, engineers, contractors, estate managers) who give their time and expertise to embed and amplify sustainability across the scales of the architectural profession. One of the notable outcomes of the group’s work in 2018 has been the inclusion of sustainability criteria for all RIBA and Stirling Prize award category submissions. Current work includes an updated green overlay for the RIBA Plan of works which will be published later this year. Jess was also on the expert panel that developed the current version of the green in 2011.
