Sam Hanan

PhD Researcher

Sam Hanan is a PhD Researcher at the University of Bristol, exploring the application of emerging technologies to the planning process with the goal of empowering all stakeholders to make informed decisions. In collaboration with 3ADAPT, he is developing the Landarna platform through integration with videogame engines and AI optimisation, aiming to deliver the aspirations of academic research in a real-world application.

Sam holds an Engineering Design degree, which focussed on civil engineering but provided specialisation into programming, computer modelling, and XR production. He has presented his research at the Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting, with further academic publications in the works.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing futsal, videogames, and the piano.
