Located within 5-minutes walk of Bath Spa railway station, Bath Quays North (BQN) is considered by Bath & North East Somerset Council to be “the most significant development opportunity in a generation”.

Bath & North East Somerset Council is bringing forward the most significant development opportunity in a generation. Bath Quays is an important site which will become Bath’s business and commercial district at the heart of the city’s economic future. We owe it to our internationally renowned city to create a legacy for future generations which will live up to its inspiring and innovative history…”
Tim Warren - Leader of Bath & North East Somerset Council, July 2017

BQN is vitally important to Bath's strategic ambition to attract and retain businesses within the city centre, and to overcome the historic ‘severance’ between Bath and the River Avon caused by post-war highways works and associated carpark and coach park uses in the area.

Working with Bath & North East Somerset Council, Allies & Morrison and wider project team, 3ADAPT supported the development of the masterplan and outline planning submission. This included undertaking a suite of studies and reports such as an energy and CO2 emissions assessment, a photovoltaic array options and output study, an electric vehicle provision study, a desktop wind microclimate assessment, the sustainability statement and climate change chapter to support the Environmental Statement.
